Rozita Alaluf, Ph.D.
Limited Permit Psychologist
Midtown + Virtual
I believe that gaining a deeper understanding of ourselves and our motivations can open up new possibilities we may not have noticed before. Whether you're looking for support, clarity, or relief, my goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and respected. Over the years, I’ve seen the transformative benefits of psychotherapy across diverse populations, including reduced suffering, changes in unhelpful behaviors and relationship patterns, deeper self-awareness, more authentic connections with others, and increased self-confidence and fulfillment.
My style is warm, attentive, and interactive. While I’m grounded in psychodynamic and attachment theories, I also draw from other approaches—such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and contemplative practices—to tailor our work to your unique needs. I listen carefully and without judgment, offering thoughtful feedback along the way.
During my years of practice, I’ve worked with people facing relationship challenges, career or academic pressures, life transitions, depression, anxiety, addictions, and issues related to sexual, cultural, or non-dominant identities. I also have extensive experience working with reproductive concerns and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. As a bilingual and multicultural therapist, I’m happy to offer psychotherapy in Turkish as well.
Training
I hold a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from City College of New York and a master’s degree from Teachers College, Columbia University. Before joining Therapists of New York, I trained at Lenox Hill Hospital, the counseling centers at the Graduate Center and Brooklyn College, The Psychological Center, and The Addiction Institute of Mount Sinai. My clinical work is also enriched by my training in yoga, and meditation, and my research in reproductive mental health.
