Tamzin Baker, Ph.D.
Limited Permit Psychologist
Midtown + Brooklyn + Virtual

As a psychodynamic therapist, I am dedicated to helping individuals explore the underlying causes of emotional distress. Together we will uncover patterns in how you relate to yourself and others, which may be contributing to challenges such as anxiety, depression and loneliness.  I believe that true personal growth stems from a deeper understanding and acceptance of oneself, and through our work together, I hope to help you foster a greater sense of connection, fulfilment, and vitality in your life.

I work with adults and couples facing a wide range of psychological difficulties, relationship struggles, grief, and life transitions such as aging and illness. I have a particular interest in supporting women who are navigating the complex intersection of motherhood and serious medical conditions.

Training

I earned my Ph.D in Clinical Psychology from City College/CUNY and completed my pre-doctoral internship at Mount Sinai Behavioral Health Center (formerly Mount Sinai Beth Israel). Before my doctoral program, I studied psychoanalytic theory at the Tavistock and Portman Center in London and worked as a journalist covering art and design.
