I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who approaches psychotherapy as collaborative work in which I engage actively with you to promote self-understanding and provide challenges toward growth in the context of a supportive therapy relationship. Our work together will be to bring into greater awareness thoughts, feelings, wishes, and beliefs that impact your relationships and ways of navigating your world. I will join you with nonjudgemental curiosity to understand your experiences to offer therapeutic interventions specific to you.
Throughout my years of clinical experience, I have worked with individuals from a wide diversity of race, ethnicity, immigration history, sexual orientation, gender identity, and socioeconomic status. In my therapy work, I appreciate the intersections of identities and the complexities of sociocultural issues that impact the client’s sense of self and well-being.
Training
I have a PhD in Clinical Psychology from City College/The CUNY Graduate Center. During my four-year residency at the Psychological Center at City College, I worked with adults and adolescents in both individual and group psychotherapy. At Columbia University Medical Center, I trained in a wide range of treatments with a focus on eating disorders and maternal perinatal care. At Baruch College, I held a three-year fellowship and worked with minority and first-generation students. During my postdoctoral fellowship at the Columbia University counseling center, I worked with a team of clinicians to develop a curriculum and lead a discussion group to support Asian American students in response to the increased experience of racial discrimination in the context of the current pandemic.
