So often we make our way through life accumulating years of painful experiences that inhibit our ability to thrive. As a therapist, I seek to work collaboratively with my clients to create a space in which they can be their most authentic and whole selves. We will work together to build a culture of empathy, exploration, and empowerment that will help you feel supported in your treatment journey.
I have worked with people from all walks of life and use my passion of providing quality treatment to break down additional barriers for those seeking culturally responsive therapy, including BIPOC and LGBTQ+ clients. My ability to assess how cultural and social factors impact my clients means we can work to honor the roles that these factors have played in their lives.
My approach is grounded in years of evidenced-based training, while personalizing the therapy to meet the individual needs of each client. I have experience working with a wide range of challenges including trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, immigration and acculturation struggles, as well as navigating various life transitions.
I use an integrative treatment style that incorporates psychodynamic therapy, family therapy, group therapy, systems-based therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Through these treatment methods, we can determine the best interventions that will accommodate your specific needs.
Training
I earned my Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Rutgers University’s Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP). Throughout my training, I dedicated my time working with diverse peoples of various identities, leading to an additional Multicultural Concentration specialization applied to my doctorate. Creating trauma-informed care and delivering culturally competent treatment to underserved populations are my primary clinical interests. My research focused on the long-term impacts of racial trauma. Through years of exposure to a myriad of settings, I gained extensive clinical experience culminating in a pre-doctoral internship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center.
